On September 15th, 2009 SOE pulled the plug on the "Valcyn" server thus dealing a deathblow to the city of New Vorbis. However work has begun toward a new server to re-ignite the legacy of Vorbis. Stay tuned for more details!

In a legacy that began in a little game called "Star Wars Galaxies" back in 2004 with a city established along a quiet lake on Naboo with a simple but rare idea that a player city in the game should be an organized and worthy tourist destination. What resulted was several proceeding cities and eventually an entire nation of such cities with not just the typical "Buff House" and scattered merchants but actual points of interest ranging from cinemas to museums to zoos to a scale model of the city built in city hall and an entire street and house numbering address system designed to find it all with ease. Each city interacting with one another through a central government designed to progress the needs of each city and plan events among them, and while today what was formally known as "The United Vorbisian Provinces" is unfortunately no more due to the decommission of "Valcyn" the spirit of Vorbis lives on in the plans for a new city dubbed "Fort Vorbis" that plans to be launched at the end of this year/ early next year on the planet of lok.
